SPECIAL MEETING HELD BY THE TOWN COMMISSION FOR THE TOWN OF OCEAN RIDGE, FLORIDA, TO BE HELD IN THE TOWN HALL ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2004, AT 12:00 NOON.           

The meeting was called to order and roll call was answered by the following:

                        Commissioner Bingham             Commissioner Pugh

                                                    Vice Mayor Kaleel  

It was noted that Comm Aaskov and Comm Schulte was absent with notice.  

The meeting started at approximately 12:10 P.M.  

ACTIONS AND REPORTS

1.                  CERTIFICATION OF ELECTION RESULTS

A.                 Official Election Results

1.                  Certified Copy Supplied by Supervisor of Elections  

Town Clerk Hancsak advised that of the 1,283 registered voters, there were 565 votes cast. Of the 565, she explained, 29 were absentee ballots. She concluded that Lynn Allison received 343 votes, and Gail Adams Aaskov received 213.  

Comm Pugh moved to certify the election results, seconded by Comm Bingham.  

Motion carried – Yea (3).  

B.                 Seating of One Commissioner

Town Clerk Hancsak swore in Lynn Allison as a Commissioner.  

Comm Allison expressed her gratitude to all those in the audience that participated and supported her in the election.  She thanked Gail Adams Aaskov for her nine years of service.  She commented that this election may have resulted in a permanent change for future elections because it appears that voters want to actually meet and know their candidates and let their voices be heard.  She felt a clear mandate for change has occurred.   

Vice Mayor Kaleel thanked the audience for attending and stated that he hoped they would attend the regular meetings as well.
