Ocean Ridge Support Group

The Ocean Ridge Support Group, Inc., adopted on April 13, 1976, is a non-profit corporation, the objective of which is to organize the residents and property owners in the Town of Ocean Ridge and surrounding area into a benevolent, educational and social corporation in order to provide scientific instructions and training for the purpose of protecting lives and property, and promoting good will within the Towns of Ocean Ridge, Briny Breezes, Gulfstream, Manalapan and surrounding areas.

The only donations given to the Ocean Ridge Support Group are ones solicited directly by the Support Group annually.  No other sources fund its donations.   If you would like to donate to the Support Group, please send donations directly to Ocean Ridge Department of Public Safety Support Group, Inc. at 6450 N. Ocean Blvd., Ocean Ridge, FL 33435.

Support Group 3-16-02

The Support Group is made up of all Ocean Ridge Officers and supplemented by a number of volunteer officers.  The group meets once a month for training on various topics such as Human Diversity, Blood Borne Pathogens, CPR, Defibrillator use, review new fire techniques, hazardous materials handling and various law enforcement techniques.

 

A1A October 16, 1999During Hurricane Irene October, 1999 the members of the Support Group were available to help with traffic control, clearing trees and debris from the roadways, checking down power lines, moving stranded cars, cleaning storm drains and responding to alarm calls. Many of them worked through the night to ensure that A1A was passable although trees continued to fall and through traffic had to be stopped for certain periods of time.

Briny Breezes October 16, 1999

 

Some homes in Briny Breezes were also damaged as a result of Hurricane Irene.
