During
Tropical Storm Fay in August 2008, the members of the Support Group were available to
help with traffic control, clearing trees and debris from the roadways, checking
down power lines, moving stranded cars, cleaning storm drains and responding to
alarm calls. Many of them worked through the night to ensure that A1A was
passable although trees continued to fall and through traffic had to be stopped
for certain periods of time. |
| Fallen trees
branches and coconuts were a major concern during the storm. |
