a progress report of the
Hudson

Contractor (Chaz Equipment Company) has completed the last of the items left on
the punch list in order to finish the project.
The Town Engineer reviewed the as-builts and record drawings for the
project and has issued a certification of completion.
On
January 24, 2005
, the South Florida Water Management District
issued an acceptance of the certification of completion for the project.
The staff had a Norfolk Pine tree removed that was in danger of falling
into the roadway. The tree was
located in the right-of-way in front of
11 Hudson Avenue
.
Stormwater Drainage Project - South Phase
– On
December 22, 2004
at
8:00 am
, a Special Town
Commission Meeting was held to discuss and award the bid.
At this meeting the Town Commission voted to award the bid to the low
bidder Chaz Equipment Company, Inc. in the amount of $4,189,000.00.
The award of the bid is contingent upon the approval of the bidder by the
Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) as part of the
requirements of the State Revolving Fund Loan Agreement. On
January 14, 2005
, the Staff submitted
the bidder information to the FDEP for approval. On
January 21 2005
, the FDEP accepted the
addenda 1 through 4 of the bid documents for the South Phase.
Upon approval of the bidder information by the FDEP the Town will sign a
contract with Chaz Equipment Company, Inc. for the South Phase of the stormwater
drainage project.

and
David Lane
Improvements – This is a progress report of the

and should be totally completed with the project by the middle of
February which is within the ninety (90) day time period that was allocated for
the project. The improvement project
consisted of installing a new road on
David Lane
, repaving
Adams Road
and installing new
drainage pipes and catch basins on both roads.
The Contractor has completed the installation of all the drainage piping
and catch basins for both
Adams Road
and
David Lane
.

list of items that are still outstanding. The
total cost for the construction of the improvements on
Adams Road

David Lane
is $199,540.00.
Landscaping
– On
December 22, 2004
at
10:00 am
at the
Ocean
Ridge
Town Hall
, four (4) bids were
received and opened for the landscape maintenance services.
The maintenance services will be performed at seventeen (17) sites
throughout the Town. The four (4)
bidders were A Classy Cut Property Maintenance Service, Blue Water Landscape and
Lake
Management
, Green Edge Lawn
Maintenance, and Stiles Landscaping Company.
The staff evaluated the bids and recommended awarding of the bid to the
low bidder “A Classic Cut” of
Lake Worth
,
Florida
. The
Town has used A Classy Cut in the past; the last job was trimming the trees on
Ocean Avenue
this year before Christmas. The
Staff has been impressed with the response we have received from them and the
number of personnel and the equipment available to perform the expectations of
the Town. At
the January 3, 2005 Town Commission meeting, the Commission awarded the bid to A
Classy Cut for the annual amount of
$74,450.00 and authorized the Town Manager to negotiate and enter into a
contract for these services. The
contract with the Town’s current Landscaper, Blue Water Landscape & Lake
Management has expired and they are continuing to work on a month to month basis
until a new contractor is hired. The
Town has now entered into a contract with A Classic Cut and they will begin work
on
February 1, 2005
.

$102,657.00 was received from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
(FDEP) for the Hudson Avenue Phase of the stormwater drainage project.
On
January 4, 2005
the Town submitted a request to the FDEP to
increase the amount of the loan in order to provide additional funding for the
South Phase of the stormwater drainage project.
At the
January 12, 2005
FDEP hearing the Town’s loan increase of
$1,679,000.00 was added to the fundable portion of the FDEP’s priority list.
The Town and FDEP will now have to approve an amendment to the loan
agreement.
Walkover Repairs
- The Town has received a quote from Morrison Builders of Dania Beach, Florida
for the repair of all the damaged Town Walkovers.
Morrison Builders are a general Contractor who has rebuilt or built new
walkovers in the Town. The staff is

Raton, Florida. Hopefully we will
have the second estimate before the February meeting. The

walkovers. These include
Edith Street
