The Town Clerk serves as the Human Resources Director for the Town, maintaining all personnel related documents and managing the day-to-day operations of the department. The HR Director administers personnel policies, procedures and programs, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and employment. The HR Director advertises for open positions, accepts resumes and applications, and conducts interviews for Town Hall employees. (Note: The Police Department accepts resumes and applications and conducts interviews for Police Department employees). The HR Director conducts new employee orientations, ensuring that all paperwork is completed and filed, and ensuring that all ethics requirements are adhered to. The operational role of the HR Director is administrative in nature; ensuring that there is compliance with Town policies, equal employment opportunity, and other employment laws and regulations.
